4 Years of Kimi No Na Wa (Your name) One of the most Popular, influential Romance Drama Anime Film of All time. Makoto Shinkai’s Magnum Opus Kimi No Na Wa Turns 4 year old today. This article is an Assessment of all the Nostalgia that fans have attached to this one Special Film even Today.

Forgetting a Show or Anime nowadays has become easier that ever. Hundreds or Thousands of pieces of media are released Everyday, in every part of the world and To stand out among this Ocean of Content is no easy feat. Only a handful of Tv shows or Movies manage to achieve that.

Kimi No Na Wa (Your Name) was one such film. it not only Managed to transcend the barrier of being an Anime. but it also instantly became one of the most acknowledged pieces of Animated Works worldwide. shattering all the records of every other Japanese Anime film at the Box Office, The film garnered an incredible amount of cult following and it does it Even Today!

This romance Film was so geniously written that you don’t even have to be Romance fanatic to become a fan of it. The film understood that a piece of media or storytelling doesn’t have to take its “Genre” for literally. even though it’s described as a Romance Drama, it still did things that a regular Romance show would probably avoid doing yet the film never deviated from the Romance aspect.

With a Lot of shocking plot twists scattered throughout the film, took the enjoyment and investment level to the ninth cloud and never backed down from there. for the people who haven’t seen this yet.. some of the plot points were a perfect manifestation of the popular phrase “There’s actually more that meets the eye”

The film takes several 360 flips to reach its end goal and the way it does, it’s incredibly immersive and investing. This piece of storytelling is full of events and not even for a single frame, it feels empty or wasting. The realistically grounded way of conveying emotions was also a one of the biggest selling point of the film. it never exaggerated any emotion nor it sugarcoated anything..

Everytime you look at a character’s face and the given expressions, you can instantly comprehend what they are feeling. because of the amazing job this film does in its first half. Even being heavily plot oriented, it still manages to excel at other important aspects such as Character Growth and their relationships. by the time you reach its climax, you are already Emotionally attached to this characters and that feeling doesn’t disappear even after these long 4 years…

Production of The Film

Makoto Shinkai was an extremely renowned and capable director even before the release of his Biggest hit. and one can even Argue that his prior works such as Kotonoha No Niwa surpasses Your Name in terms of Visual Production. Though Visually, Your name is also in a league of its own and coupled with The Heavenly soundtracks produced by Radwmips. The film cements itself as one of the most lasting impact in the Anime Film Industry.

Lots and lots of New Anime films nowadays are trying to recreate the magic that Your name left behind. New ideas are getting explored and writers are thinking more out of the box than the last ever. Kimi no na wa (Your Name) is one of the very few modern works of fiction that has become this Influential for the next generation of writers and in this new wave of wanting to create something new and creative, we might just get Another Story that will sway itself to the same Pedestal as this MASTERPIECE..
