Ever since Animax has gone from Indian Television Services, now from OTT Platforms as well. Indian Anime Fans are struggling to watch their favorite anime legally. They are not that much aware of whether Anime is now even available legally in India or not. So, Today we will list out all the Best Streaming Services from where you can enjoy your favorite Anime legally and even for free.

How Many Anime are legally available in India?

There are over more than 560 anime are legally available in India which you can watch without using any VPN, which is even more growing now. This research is done by Sameer Kulkarni who is an Indian Anime Fan. He alongwith his friend Laggie compiled all his information into a video. They both are also members of Banglore Anime Fan Club.

Netflix [Paid]

Netflix is an American streaming service which launched in India in Jan, 2016. Right Now, It is one of best way to watch anime legally in India. It is having a huge collection of Animes and Japanese dramas. Most of their library includes popular classic shows, current Netflix originals and its still growing.

Some of the best anime available are Hunter X Hunter, Steins Gate, Devilman Crybaby, Full Metal Alchemist and many more.

Netflix is paid streaming platform, their subscription rate starts from Rs 199 per month for single user. You can know about their subscription plans in detail on their official website


Amazon Prime [Paid]

Just like Netflix, Amazon Prime is another streaming platform having good collection of Anime. Some of the recommended anime to watch on Amazon Prime are Dororo, Vinland Saga, Banana Fish, Welcome to the Ballroom, Grand Blue.

Amazon Prime charges Rs. 129 monthly or Rs. 999 yearly for their Prime membership.


Crunchyroll [Free + Paid]

Crunchyroll is one of the most popular Anime Streaming Services among Anime Fans. It offers over 1,200 series, many simulcast shows. Crunchyroll offers both a free and paid tier.
The free version is ad-supported and doesn’t include simulcasts or access to all of Crunchyroll’s anime and manga.
Tower of God, Boruto, Naruto Shippuden, JoJo, ReLife, Darling in the franxx and over 100 anime are available for free but you just need to bear few ads in between the episodes.

Paid version is also available which is without ads and have premium features also. Some content is not available in India, but can be accessed with use of VPN .

Muse Asia [Free]

Muse Asia, started in 2019 streamed many ongoing television anime series of 2019 on their YouTube channel. They have over 50+ anime as of now, which you can watch for free.

One Punch Man, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, The God of High School and all other shows are available on their Youtube Channel. Muse Asia is the official distributor for all these anime in the Southeast Asian region.

Ani-One [Free]

Just like Muse Asia, Ani-One started in 2019 simulcast ongoing Anime shows on their Youtube Channel. The Millionaire Detective Balance, Yuru Camp, No Game No Life etc shows are available on their Youtube Channel.

Other Streaming Services

Tubi TV is an American ad-supported streaming service owned by Fox Corporation.  The service first launched in April 2014 and is based in San Francisco, California. You won’t find any new or popular anime here but some of the classic anime are available to watch for free.

Mobile Suit Gundam complete franchise shows and movie are available legally on their official Youtube Channel “GundamInfo”.

CONtv is a multi-platform OTT service providing content to the Comic-Con community. It, Launched in March 2015, has also random anime like Mononoke, Yugioh, Beyblade etc

All these streaming services are constantly adding New Anime Titles in their libraries and increasing their list. So, look out for all of them in future as well.

If we talk about other streaming services like Funimation, Animelab etc. These Streaming Services are dedicated to one category i.e. only Anime. They have pretty huge library of anime from classic to new one, also they simulcast anime on the same day as Japan. That’s why, on the behalf of all Indian Anime Fans, an Indian Boy named Epsit made this petition to show there’s a massive increase of Anime Fans in India as how they were able to release Anime Movies like Dragon Ball Super Broly, Weathering with You and Lupin III The Fist in India.
