2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Club, Similar to Haikyuu?

An anime adaptation of Yukako Kabei’s 2.43: Seiin Kōkō Danshi Volley-bu (Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Club) light novel series was announced on November 1 by Shueisha Bunko light novel label’s Official Twitter handle.

Its anime series adaptation by David Production will premiere in January 2021 on television.

The story is about Kimichika Haijima, who due to some serious trouble in his middle school volleyball team gets transferred from Tokyo to Fukui prefecture.

Kimichika again meets with his childhood friend, Yuni Kuroba over there.

Yuni is amazing at volleyball, however lacks in skills to deal with pressure.

Kimichika and Yuni together they were the ace combo of their team in the past. But the two had a fight at the final prefecture tournament in middle school due to which they severed their bond even in their highschool.

In high school at Seiin High School both of them joins the volleyball club with the second-year and third-year students in the club, they make Seiin High School’s volleyball club into a top-notch team, into a force to be reckoned with!

Similarities with Haikyuu

The upcoming sports anime series also follows the same theme as Haikyuu. It also follows the story of a high school volleyball team, Karasuno.

Karasuno strives to ace in difficult situations to enter the Nationals.

The main storyline of the anime is also about its members sharing a bond with each other.

2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Club light novel series is written by Yukako Kabei and illustrated by Aiji Yamakawa.

It has been published by Shueisha in five volumes in three seasons since March 2015 under their Shueisha Bunko imprint.

A manga adaptation with art by Yamakawa has been serialized in Shueisha’s josei manga magazine Cocohana since July 2018.

It has been collected in a single tankōbon volume.
