This Friday, the movie of already massively popular anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” named Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Train was released. And surprisingly, even in this COVID-19 situation, the movie broke all the opening box office records in Japan. Demon Slayer Infinity Train is breaking all possible records in Japan.
According to Crunchyroll, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train grossed over 1.2 Billion yen on the first day of its release on just its opening day. This is the highest ever in all of Japan, even counting foreign films. The previous record holder was Disney’s Frozen 2 which made 1.88 Billion yen in its opening weekend. Other movies like Weathering With You (Tenki No Ko) (which opened higher than Kimi No Na Wa) opened to 1.5 Billion yen and Spirited Away which is the highest-grossing anime movie in Japan opened to 1.05 Billion yen over Saturday and Sunday.
Demon Slayer Infinity Train saw the biggest opening in all of Japan and might continue to have the biggest opening weekend as well. Crunchyroll estimated that it can go upto 3 Billion yen in its opening weekend and set a new record for opening weekend as well.

The movie enjoyed the popularity of the Ufotable produced anime series and fans were all hyped up to see what’s after this season. And the franchise welcomed all the fans with an action-packed movie which is indeed a continues the story. Unlike other anime series related movies which are more often side stories or fillers.

A long journey awaits for him as he trains himself to fight demons and find the man who killed his family: Muzan Kibutsuji.
