I noticed ppl either think mushoku tensei is the greatest isekai (it isn’t) or it’s a gooner iseaki/ diddy tensei so I wanna know what yall think of it. I’ve read the manga and watched the anime but dropped it at the school arc I found it incredibly boring bc of how it went from cool world building isekai to a romcom high school series with magic I could somewhat tolerate rudeus’s pervertedness but him keeping roxys panties and then worshiping them… yeah that shit ruined it for me.
He is a big perv, to the point that I hated seeing him but liked the other stuff. The problem of him being the MC made me drop it early on.
the greatest isekai imo is "Tsuihousareru Tabi ni Skill wo Te ni Ireta Ore ga." I really like it, it's pretty original.
I really enjoyed it but the author had no reason to make rudy so weird bro. What did it add to the plot? maybe its to show he got better from being a gooner to a normal person but there are so many other ways to execute that
overall i think it's really good. I personally find the school arc interesting cuz of how
a really interesting concept/ world building but Rudy is the main problem he doesn't HAVE to be perv for the plot to progress it's fine if you like it but fans making excuses for his behavior saying "it gets better or he supposed to be bad" made it unwatchable for me
The point of mushoku tensei is the essence of isekai (which a lot of newer isekais never got), the point is to start over and live a proper life. Rudy was given a chance to start over and he did his best to live seriously this time. He made effort to learn and kept at it instead of giving up when he's bored or found someone better than him like his previous life. He tried to make a connection with his parents instead of shutting himself off. He sees other people make the same mistakes he made and tried to help like with Norn. Yes he still struggles with hyper sexuality but that's life, you can never be perfect. If you find the school arc boring then you are missing the point too. School life, learning, making connection, making friends, that's part of life. And if you want a story about grand world building, world shattering events, you should try Ascendance of a bookworm. This is the story of one person and his friends and family. From the beginning of his life til the end.
