Call of the night wasn’t even that bad but I don’t like bittersweet endings
sometimes the ending or storyline itself decided by editor in charge of said title.
Bad health I think was a factor to both Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach's ending. So that's one reason. Also, it's 'hard' to create a satisfying ending that will please the most amount of people. I say that, but it rly isn't that difficult when a multitude of fans can create a better ending than the author by just changing a couple of things (looking at u MHA...)
