Fool Night is mid. The author just had a cool idea about people turning into plants. So the motivation behind it ends up kind of half-assed. Why not make animals into plants instead? Or at least use the Indians / Blacks first to reduce crime & rape. Plus they're harder to see in the dark. I think someone in the manga said it was to thin the population while producing oxygen or something? But then why not just thin the population like how capitalism starves the proletariat now and have nuclear plants creating enough energy to produce oxygen.
