I don't really care tbh
Yes, I am serious. EVERY mznga should start as a light novel first. I don't understand much about manga production, but I know where its author's attention is: to draw nice art. That's fine and all, but it's not enough. Nice art is a selling point, not a goal. And this issue isn't just for manga creators, but manhwas and doujins. It's OK to only wanna draw something nice. I can totally see that. If I knew how to draw, I'd be hyped about it for sure. But, as a reader, I gotta say that most manga are mid af. I think the reason is the cost of hiring a professional editor. Two issues converge for an artist who wants to make manga: 1. They're focused on the art 2. They cannot draw the full potential of their story cos they can't get a pro editor. If these issues are ignored, it results in a mid If not trash manga with OK art—making it difficult for the cartoonist to settle in the industry. This is why I think mangaka should prioritise a light novel development approach first before drawing any of the story. I think it'd definitely help the smut mangaka especially. Your guys' stories just aren't it.
