Idk bout y'all, but to me **self-loathing** is a detestable flaw. It's not humility which is a Virtue, its like giving up. Believing that you're scum. And honestly it didn't make me like Dragon at all. I prefer Garp. A guy who tries (and **has been trying**) his hardest and is strong for it. There's no need to hate yourself especially if you’re still living. It's better to do better next time. And Garp to me symbolises this, not Dragon. I don't like saintly martyrs like Dragon acted in this chapter. In a dystopia, weakness is a sin. This is the sin that many islands that joined the WG and made it the behemoth it is today have. It's the same sin that plagued God Valley because for some reason, their king refused to join the WG but didn't have the force to resist the God's knights, buster call and the incursion of pirates? Like, talk about having your cake and expecting to eat it too. So, honestly, **I don't blame or hate Garp one bit**. He's strong because hes been putting in the grind, and now future Yonko run from him. Because he's strong nobody in the WG wants to coerce him to doing revolting inhumane stuff (think Kizaru or VA Doberman). Instead he's a symbol that inspires newbie marines like Koby to stand up for what they believe. And Sword is a result of that dedication. Tldr, > ***I ❤ Monkey D Garp!***

I want to know what the hell happened in Garps backstory that he came to hate the pirates so much, Also it depends on how much humanity one has left in him and what his moral compass is to dictate what is right and wrong, I mean sure dragon was weak yet in his weakness he tried to save two young lives that were entrusted to him, He Realized how twisted and Wrong the world was, he fought to gain strength and gather an army that would fight for him and together they fought against the wrongness of the world ( that is rulers of the world ) that is what strength is to me, to choose for himself what is wrong and to fight against it English is one of the 4 languages I learned, so I may not be as good as native speakers, I would appreciate any mistakes you point out that may help me improve my skills
