PDF vs Mass Murderer

Shigaraki, despite being a mass murderer, had a genuinely impactful backstory that made a lot of people sympathize with him. He was abused, ignored by society, and ultimately taken in and shaped by the worst possible person. He didn’t start out evil he was basically molded into it. Dottore, on the other hand, was already messed up from his student days (if you played the last sumeru event you would know). He didn’t need someone to push him into becoming a monster he chose that path himself. Everything he does is for his own benefits, with zero regard for others. And unlike Shigaraki, he hasn’t been given a backstory that really tries to justify or soften what he is (at least for now). That’s why Shigaraki just doesn’t work as a replacement for Dottore they’re built on completely different types of villain writing.

Mushoku Tensei fans trying to explain how their shit mc isn't actually a pedo despite him molesting little girls and jerking off to pictures of his niece. But broooooo he goes through a "change" and stuff bro. Which is bullshit he barely changes, still talking about his sisters breast in volume 21 btw. Then the entire world treats him like a good person he faces no consequences for the weird shit he's done.

Mostly because violence is a more normalized thing in media whereas pedophilia isn't. Also there's stuff like violence being cool and pedophilia being gross, violence being justifiable and pedophilia not being justifiable, and the fact that killing fictional people isn't as disturbing as sexually assaulting fake people (especially children).

Shigaraki has a sad backstory, that's what matters. And he mostly only killed NPC's, so it's all good, I mean... it's fiction.

Most of the people who critizices rudeus havent even seen the anime or read the LN, maybe at the start he is a pdf, but later on he redeems himself and becomes a better person. While shigaraki ass you say is just a mass murderer
