Solo Leveling Season 2 release date is something that its fans are keenly looking forward to after the s1 finale.
Solo leveling is probably the most famous manhwa out there that every manhwa fan is recommending. If you are a manga/manhwa reader and still haven’t heard the name of this manhwa, then you must be living under the rocks. Fans are crazy about it because of the scale of its fights.
The popularity of the manhwa is on an exponential rise even now and fans await its second season very eagerly. The first season ended with chapter 110, which was the season finale and now everyone is hyped up for season 2.
Wikipedia describes its plot as:
“Since a portal connecting our world to a world full of monsters and creatures of all kinds appeared, some people have acquired powers and the ability to hunt them: they are called hunters. The protagonist of the story, Sung Jin-Woo, is the weakest of the rank E hunters and barely stronger than a normal human. He is nicknamed by his fellow hunters as “the weakest”. One day, he and other hunters find themselves trapped in an extremely dangerous dungeon, and only a few of them survive and manage to escape. Sung Jin-Woo himself barely survives and is the only one who completes all the trials in this dungeon. He then turns into a “player” who can now see an interface showing him quests, stats, inventory, store, and levels. Will he succeed in leveling up to become the most powerful hunter?”
According to me, it is a story of a boy who becomes overpowered overnight and is now here to show us humongous fight scenes. The story reminds me of One Punch Man, but obviously it doesn’t take the satirical approach, nor does the hero destroys every villain in a single punch. But still becoming the strongest person from the weakest has become a common shonen trope. Not a completely bad thing, the good side is, fight scenes are amazingly large in scale and beautiful to witness.
With the end of season 1 in March 2020, fans are waiting for the announcement of season 2.
The manhwa was adapted by Webtoon from the graphic novel. Season 1 of the manhwa ended with a cliff hanger with chapter number 110. A season 2 is obviously expected with that ending. Also, the graphic novel has so much content left to be adapted that 100+ chapters can still be made.
A season 2 will be made for sure, but there is no official announcement as of now regarding season 2, but there will be one very soon for sure, it is just a matter of when.
Well, it is not unknown now that Japan is adapting stories with great potentials from manhwa and webtoon, for example “Tower of God” and “God of High School”. Both of them are produced by Crunchyroll. An anime series on Solo Leveling does not seem too far away now.
With the rising popularity an anime adaptation is expected very soon. Hope we will get to hear an announcement of its anime adaptation real soon! A petition on Adapting Solo Leveling into an anime exists and there are already 140k signs on the petition! Help it reach 150K here.
