Makoto Shinkai directed anime film Weathering With You (Tenki No Ko), Tomohiko Ito directed anime film Hello World and Hiroyuki Imaishi directed anime film Promare are all nominated in the Seiun Sci-Fi Awards this year.

The Seiun Award is a Japanese speculative fiction award for the best science fiction works and achievements during the preceding year. This year, the list of nominees for the 51st Seiun Awards included the following movies in the media category:

1. Astra Lost in Space.
2. Hello World (Anime Movie)
3. Godzilla: King of Monsters
4. Promare (Anime Movie)
5. Weathering With You (Anime Movie)
6. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
7. Fly Me To Saitama
8. Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion: Mirai Kara Shinsoku no ALFA-X

The three anime movies as you can see in the list were “Weathering With You: Tenki No Ko”, “Hello World”and “Promare”.

About These Movies

Weathering With You is the 2019 Makoto Shinkai directed movie which created a huge amount of hype, specially in India, due to the impact that the 2016’s Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa) left on the audience. It was the foundation of the Shinkai fanbase that we see around the globe today. Weathering With You more or less lived up to the expectations of the viewers, and made everyone laugh and cry at the same time with the peculiar adventure of Hodaka and Hina as the weather goes crazy!

Hello World is the 2019 Tomohiko Ito directed Sci-Fi movie which is crazy in every manner. From plot twists to the subtle grand reveal, from the mind boggling science to heart melting romance, the movie won everyone’s heart.

Promare is the 2019 Hiroyuki Imaishi directed Sci-Fi movie which is set in future where a large portion of humanity has been destroyed by a new race.
